and managerial background, governs SOWiL
Limited .
The Chairman of the Company, Mr. Ninan Koshi, is
former Director General (Road Development), and Additional
Secretary to The Govt. of India in the Roads Wing of the
Ministry of Surface Transport. He has over 43 years experience
in highways and bridge engineering including administration,
planning, design and implementation of road and bridge
projects in the entire National Highway system of India
covering a road network of 35,000 km length and 6,500 bridges.
He advised the Government of India on all matters relating to
development of roads and bridges, framed policies, programmes
and plans of action for modernization, development and
maintenance of the National Highway system. He was Secretary,
Indian Roads Congress for many years and is currently the
Convener of the Concrete and Pre-stressed Concrete Committee
of the IRC. He was also Principal Advisor, RITES for six
years.
Mr. Mayank Kummar, Vice Chairman, with his management degree
in Business Administration from Switzerland, provides the
necessary inputs to the Company for business development and
management of the projects undertaken by the Company. He has
over 30 years experience in management of various Companies of SPBP Group including one construction Company for roads and
bridges. He also holds 6 patents for design in the field of
Plastic Packaging products.
Mr. Prem Chandha, Director, a Management expert and a
former Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Supply Chain,
Unilever NV, Rotterdam, has joined the Board of Directors
after 36 years service with the Unilever Group. Prior to this
he was the Head of Technology for Unilever worldwide based in
the Netherlands and worked as Technical Director, Nippon Lever
before moving to Europe. Presently he is serving as a
non-Executive Director on the Boards of a few Companies in
India. He is also management consultant to a number of
companies in India, Indonesia and Japan.
Dr.
Ram S Tarneja, Director, presently
Chairman, The Bombay School of Business and PAMARRO (Pan Asian
Management and Rural Research Organisation) and Consul of
Finland in India, Director. Dr. Tarneja, a PhD in Management
from Cornell University, USA, was Director of Graduate
Department of Business Administration, Duquesne University,
Pittsburgh, USA. He retired as Managing Director, Bennett,
Coleman & Company Ltd. (Times Of India) In 1991 and
continues as a member of their Board.
Mr. M.Ravindra, Director, is former chairman Railway Board and was a
Member of the Ist Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. He
joined the Indian Railway Service of Engineers in 1961 and
retired in 1997 as Principal Secretary to Govt. of India and
Chairman Railway Board. During his tenure in the Railways, he
held several important assignments such as Chief
Administrative Officer (Construction) Bangalore, General
Manager (Western Railway) and Member Engg. Railway Board.
